On Friday, October 8th, The Hope Center officially opened in Jui, Freetown. The Hope Center was envisioned and started over one year ago by Project Restore Hope in partnership with GCPN and The Evangelical College of Theology in Jui. This center represents the very name given to it: HOPE. This center possesses two dormitories. a conference center, dental clinic, skills training lab, computer training room, kitchen, apartment and office spaces.
The Hope Center exists to offer hope to the community of Jui, Freetown. It will serve as a hub for ministry and as a connection point between those in Christ and those in need of Him. Volunteers will be able to come and lodge at the Hope Center as they serve the unreached of Sierra Leone. People within the community will be able to use its services in order to better themselves and to gain skills to equip them to find better jobs. Churches and other mission groups will have a place to meet together, fellowship and train. Those who are sick and in need of dental care will have a place to come to get physical and spiritual healing.
The ceremony began at 10:00am on Friday. Over 200 people attended the event. Many organizations, dignitaries and churches were represented. It was a wonderful time of fellowship and dedication of this facility to God and His work. Dr. Dennis Wiles, pastor of FBC Arlington, Texas, was the keynote speaker. He brought a message of hope and challenged the attendants to not just benefit from God’s blessings but to share it with others. It was a wonderful time.
I ask that each of you pray for the Hope Center and those involved in the ministries there. Pray that this place will be a refuge for the weary and an oasis for the wanderer. Pray that those working there will focus on relationships and the challenge to love above all else. Pray that God would continue to reveal His path to those seeking His direction. Pray that other doors of opportunity and ministry will open in the future. May God receive the glory for it all!
